Image + Text [Relics Revisited]
UPDATE: My scheduled exhibition of this body of work at SOL Gallery Melbourne, in 2026, has now been rescheduled to be held from August 24 to September 5, 2027.
This new body of work utilises figurative artworks from past projects (2005 to 2008) for further examination and investigation, adding text to communicate complex notions through simple statements. On one level, alchemising the past; on another, creating multidimensional messages that resonate with others individually and speak to the many collective issues of the moment, inviting curiosity to incorporate and interpret multilayered understandings of our present and future. In collaboration with musician Suzanne Siebert, each artwork will gradually have a song inspired by the artwork and Suzie’s lived experience; as each song is released, it will be linked to the associated artwork image.
